Alessandra Saviotti (1982) is an Italian curator and art educator living in Amsterdam. She holds a PhD from Liverpool John Moores University and is a member of Art Workers Italia. Since 2014, she has been collaborating with the Asociación de Arte Útil founded by Tania Bruguera, especially aiming to emancipate usership around the Arte Útil Archive. Alessandra studied at IUAV, Venice, and was a Jan van Eyck Academie fellow in Maastricht. She has curated programmes and delivered talks and workshops at documenta15 as part of Instituto de Artivismo Hannah Arendt (Cuba/Germany); Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, San Francisco; Van Abbemuseum, Eindhoven; San Francisco Art Institute; California College of the Arts; SALT, Istanbul, The Whitworth, Manchester, The University of the Arts Helsinki, MAXXI, Rome, Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berlin, Yamaguchi Center for Art and Media, among the others.
She was the assistant curator for Visible. Office and Project Space, Brussels, a tutor for Accademia Unidee, for the international Master Artist Educator at ArtEZ, Arnhem and DAS Theatre, Amsterdam. She is an advisor for UNIDEE Residency Programmes at Cittadellarte – Fondazione Pistoletto, Biella, Italy and a tutor at Transart Institute for Creative Research, Liverpool.
