Damir Radović (1976) is a French-Bosnian artist based in Paris. He spent his youth in Sarajevo, where he lived before the war in Bosnia-Herzegovina. Radović studied at the Beaux-Arts de Valence and completed his studies in the post-graduate art programme at Ecole nationale supérieure des beaux-arts de Lyon.
Damir Radović’s work is inspired by the fluctuating patterns that constitute identity and memory, often involving graphic symbols, references to places and maps, fragments of popular culture and mysterious messages. He develops video, installation and drawing work using codes and patterns in the collective consciousness, transforming them into the recreation of a new world history and social process.
Radović has regularly exhibits his work internationally, notably in solo/group exhibitions and screenings at the: Musée de l’Histoire de l’Immigration, Paris; Passerelle Centre d’art contemporain, Brest; Kunsthaus Kollitch, Klagenfurt; Kulturzentrum Gasteig, Munich; BCC, Brussels; Fries Museum, Berlin; Lepsien Art Foundation, Düsseldorf/Abu Dhabi; Volkskundemuseum, Wien; NGBK, Berlin; Ostrale, Dresden; Magasin, Centre National d’Art Contemporain, Grenoble; Hiroshima Art Project, Hiroshima; Musée d’art et archéologie, Valence; International Vidéo Festival, Busan; Kunstverein Tiergarten, Berlin; Musée d’Art Contemporain, Lyon; BJCEM, Athens; Chelsea Art Museum, New York; Centre d’art Madeleine-Lambert, Venissieux; Krupic Kersting Galerie, Cologne; Duplex100m2, Sarajevo; CAC Espace Vallès, Grenoble; L’Attrape Couleur, Lyon and Galerie de l’Insa, Lyon.
