Bálint Szombathy (1950) is writer and visual artist working in different media establishing „models of new linguistic systems“. One of the pioneers of the ‘new art practice’ of the 60’s and 70’s in Yugoslavia. Founding member of the Bosch+Bosch Art Group (Subotica, 1969–1976). As an artist he built a strategy of critique, subversion and even deconstruction of cultural and national canons and the expected role of art in societes in which he lived. His practice included a wide range of artistic activities, from visual poetry, through processual art, land art and performance up to conceptual art.
